The 'Just Editing' project has a two-year duration and was launched in september 2018. It is funded by the Nederlandse Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek (NWO) and several private partners.
In this project, social scientists and ethicists collaborate with beta scientists and breeding companies to anticipate, reflect on, and respond to ethical and societal concerns regarding the potential use of genome editing technology in farm animal breeding. The goal is to understand under which conditions genome editing technlogy could be applied in farm animal breeding, if at all.
